About Newhouse

We are a third-generation Swedish owned family business and our head office is in Sweden, Borås. The heart of our office is the sewing room. Here we create our ready-made collections in the traditional way with our designer, pattern designer and tailor. We have an invaluable opportunity to put care into cutting and developing a perfect silhouette and fit. We develop our garments in collaboration with our suppliers and we have long-term relationships with many of them. We choose firsthand locally produced in Europe when it comes to fabric, garment details such as buttons and manufacturing. This way we are able to choose high quality, both when it comes to our products and the conditions under which our garments are manufactured.

We love and look for what is genuine, natural and timeless. Newhouse is sporty, feminine and classic. Our ambition is to create favorite garments that last longer and become more beautiful over time. Newhouse collections are created from textile material, well-chosen details and the idea of a classic wardrobe for all occasions.

The core of the brand is and remains being the iconic garments such as the trench coat, chinos and club blazer. They are classics that are durable over the years and that we update and refine. We gladly take inspiration and borrow from the men's wardrobe, but add femininity as in color choices, light fabrics and patterns. The perfect Newhouse outfit lasts for use season after season and can be combined endlessly. We choose style over fast trends and quality over short-life. And above all, we are very proud of our heritage in traditional tailoring and textile expertise.

NEWHOUSE HISTORY

The history of Newhouse started in the late 40`s when Jarl Häller bought Lenberg's shirt factory in Sweden's textile heart of Borås. The Swedish textile industry is at it´s best, and in Borås, factories run at full capacity.

1954: Jarl Häller AB was formed and the assortment was expanded with pants, skirts and dresses.

1961: Office and manufacturing moved to Bryggaregatan in Borås, where the head office still operates today.

1986: Newhouse's history as a brand begins in Sundbyberg, where the owners of the mail order company Stockhause decided to start a high-end quality brand for women. The brand is initially called Newhause, but will soon receive its British spelling.

1991: Newhouse opens its first store at NK Stockholm and later, the same autumn, the second store opens at NK Gothenburg.

1992: Newhouse becomes a part of Jarl Häller AB and moves from Stockholm to Borås.

Today, Newhouse counts with 14 stores and offer online shopping in Sweden. Newhouse is also available at more than seventy retailers in the Nordic region.
